Title : Actor BYJ Rehearses Even In Break-time

   I met him on 12th October of 1998 year at first. Taller than I had imagined. Maybe because he was stretching his waist too much. While the president SHIN, SamHwa Production who was with us, spoke heatedly and led the conversation, but BYJ was a few words. So myself was trying to look dignified and was reserved in speech that we had to be apart without any intimate conversation. When we shook hands for goodbye BYJ read his lines in a low voice. " I've seen <復讐血戰(JangPD's drama)> when I was in Boston. It was sort of good. " He looked like putting on air. " Hey! You want to look like a professional actor, dont you?"

   Our second meeting was 7th December of 1999 . While he was worrying about variation from his noble-looking image, he cautiously asked me about "The loneness of Charisma" I remember the night long that I expressed my opinion of the greatness of imagination to the actor who believes that he can't play the role he doesn't understand entirely. And the importance of experience as well.

   The third meeting was 10th January of 2001. The university student BYJ talked his various experiences during the one and half year of his recharging period that was a vacuum period to his fans. He didnt stretch his waist too much anymore, in brighter look, he talked me about his own imagination of new character SHIN, Dong-Hyuk in an excited tone through the all night again.

   The columnist Mrs.全 have praised him as an actor who has both intellectual and sexual appeal in a column on some newspaper. Intellectual sexy appealing is his typical image. But, he doesn't seem to like this evaluation. He truthfully wants to be intellectual rather than looking intellectual and to be truthful rather than looking sexy.

   When he was shooting in America, he was frustrated with a long script in English. Then he asked the director for English tutor. Because he was squeezing hands of director (his hands are big and his fist is strong), the director had to cast an American actor at the expense of production cost. The actual contracted training hour was for two days, two hours per each day. But the actor hadn't appeared until dinner after he started to study English lines in lunchtime. While everybody went shopping and was out for dinner, he was shouting repeatedly " Hotel, Hotel" to correct his "L" pronunciation with the American actor. Eventually, he had to pay the tuition fee for the excess class. As far as acting he lowers himself extremely.

   He is still shy and distressed at his imperfection and incapability. And sometimes he gets angry, persisting NG even when the director said OK. Then he ill-treats himself, saying " Why am I like this?" "Like a donkey." Though all staffs say Good, he hardly satisfied with his acting. Once I have taken in secret the sight of his back standing alone in veranda after asking five minutes breaks, because it looked really lonely.

   Being asked autograph by fans, most actor sign on papers brought by fans or T-shirt (In restaurants, some fans brings napkins, thats the most hate of actors). BYJ signs on his picture he always brings. Because he thinks that autograph on useless paper will eventually be thrown into wastebasket. The actor is sensitive and delicate who is like to prepare everything perfect and confirm every small thing. He plans to go America on vacation next week, and he has already arranged his English tutor. During the last shooting in America, though he said that he was going to study English, but Ive never thought of that he will commit it actually!. You Tough Guy!
